Project Process
1. Initial Inquiry — Free
A brief initial conversation or written inquiry to determine whether the project is a good fit.
2. Consultation — If Needed
If the project requires more substantial discussion to determine its scope, a consultation may be scheduled at $100/hour. See above
3. Project Scope & Proposal
The project requirements, deliverables, timeline, fee, and payment schedule are defined.
4. Approval & Deposit
Once the scope is approved, the initial payment is collected and the project is scheduled.
5. Project Development
Research, analysis, writing, illustration, or other agreed services are completed according to the project scope.
6. Project Check-In
A brief progress check to confirm direction, answer questions, and address concerns early.
7. Review & Revisions
The client reviews the agreed deliverables and provides feedback within the included revision scope.
8. Final Payment & Delivery
The remaining balance is due before delivery of final files or materials.
Scope Changes
Requests that materially change the approved project scope, deliverables, quantity, complexity, or direction may require an adjustment to the project fee and/or timeline.
Any scope change will be discussed with the client and approved in writing before additional work begins. Additional fees will be based on the nature and extent of the requested work.
Revisions
The project proposal will specify the number of revision rounds included in the project fee. Revisions are intended to refine the agreed-upon work based on client feedback and do not include changes to the original scope, creative direction, or deliverables.
Requests beyond the included revision scope may be billed separately and will be discussed with the client before additional work begins.
Payment Terms
Payment requirements are based on the total project value—
-
Under $250: 100% payment is due upfront before work begins.
-
$250–$2,500: 50% payment is due upfront to begin work, with the remaining 50% due upon completion and before delivery of final files or materials.
-
$2,500+: 50% payment is due upfront, with the remaining balance divided into agreed-upon milestone payments and a final payment due before delivery of final files or materials.
Larger or longer projects
The payment schedule may be divided into milestone payments. Specific milestones, payment amounts, and due dates will be outlined in the project proposal and agreed upon before work begins.
